Authorities say a body found in Nebraska last week has been identified as a woman who had been missing for more than a year.

Lincoln police announced Monday morning that the body of 30-year-old Jerica Hamre was found on a rural farm just north of Oxford.

According to police, a man working in a field was inspecting the property in preparation for a sale when he discovered Hamre’s body inside an outbuilding.

Investigators say they are working with experts to narrow down an exact time frame for her death. Police confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Hamre was last seen at her home in Lincoln in June 2024. Since her disappearance, multiple searches had been conducted in several Nebraska communities as authorities and volunteers worked to locate her.
