Grand Island Senior High announces Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Grand Island Senior High School is adding a new chapter to its athletic legacy.

School officials announcing the 2026 class of inductees into the GISH Athletic Hall of Fame Tuesday — honoring athletes, coaches, teams and contributors who helped shape Islander sports.

This year’s class includes Beth Oliver Lemke and Lynn Hall for their standout athletic careers, longtime track coach Jeff Stern and his assistant coaches, the 2007 state champion girls track and field team, and longtime contributor Vic Nelson.

Inductees will be recognized during the Islanders’ boys basketball game on January 23rd, with a formal induction brunch the following morning.

The 2026 class marks the eighth group to be honored since the Hall of Fame was established.
