Hastings resident Raymond Ivo Weidt, 94, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Jeremy Hazuka officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Raymond was born July 30, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN to Ivo and Fannie (Erickson) Weidt. He graduated from Edison High School in Minneapolis, MN. Raymond served in the Army Reserves during the Korean War Era. He married Lucille Kowahl on September 26, 1953, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Minneapolis, MN.

In 1976, Raymond moved to Hastings, NE, and helped the founder, Lawrence Ridinger, start-up Lawrence Industries. After Larry’s passing in 1978, Raymond continued the business and became the owner; retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Amanda Kimminau; and siblings, Donald, Clair, and Delores.
