NEBRASKA -- A man from New York City has been sentenced in Nebraska federal court to 60 months in prison for a scheme to defraud Verizon Wireless, according to the FBI.

Gregory Lorenzo, of New York, will also pay a restitution of more than $528,000.

The Kearney Police Department and the FBI Omaha field office investigated the case.

The FBI's statement said Lorenzo was found to be conspiring with others to acquire stolen identities, including those of at least three Nebraskans. They would use the victim’s information to create Verizon accounts to purchase phones and accessories. The phones were sold on the black market in New Jersey and New York.

Lorenzo was the last of the conspirators to be sentenced.
