Grand Island Public Schools will provide mental wellness resources for families
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A central Nebraska school district is taking steps to provide mental health care.
According to a news release, Grand Island Public Schools is partnering with two organizations to help in accessing mental health care.
GIPS said that The Cook Center for Human Connection will offer trained coaches and licensed therapists through live webinars, parent coaching and recorded courses.
“Having easy access to meaningful wellness resources makes a difference,” said Dr. Summer Stephens, GIPS Associate Superintendent. “We live in a time where human emotions and behaviors can emerge in all of us, not just our children.”
Their first free webinar will take place on Tuesday.
The other organization is Care Solace. Care Solace will offer families and staff help all year long at no cost.
