Hastings Museum Reveals Refreshed Kool-Aid Exhibit
A renovation six years in the making is finally open to the public.
HASTINGS, Neb. — A renovation six years in the making is finally open to the public.
The Hastings Museum unveiled its revamped Kool-Aid exhibit over the weekend. The ribbon cutting ceremony drew attendance from supporters of the museum, city officials, and Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Joe Kelly. The museum, located at the birthplace of Kool-Aid, has been sharing the story of Edwin Perkins, the inventor of Kool-Aid, since 2002.
Curator of Exhibits Curtis Gossler says it's rewarding to see the public finally get to see what they have been working on for six years.
"Everybody in Hastings is definitely excited. It's such an iconic thing, not just Kool-Aid but the exhibit itself. So there's definitely a lot of buzz about moving to the second floor."
The renovation is also part of a larger effort by the museum to open up storage space to better cycle new exhibits in and out.
The updated exhibit provides a vibrant, colorful, and immersive experience for patrons of all ages.
