HASTINGS, Neb. - The most iconic fountain in Hastings is now flowing.

On Monday, the Jacob Fisher Rainbow Fountain was turned on for testing. It will remain on through early October.

The city went through lots of work before starting it up for the season. Crews washed it, flushed leaves from the water lines, repaired a bearing in a pump, fixed two of the canopy lights, and reviewed all of the fountain's programming, shows and lights.

The fountain made its debut in Hastings in 1932 and is the largest of its kind between Denver and Chicago. The city says the fountain is able to produce an unlimited selection of colors thanks to its 23 LED lights.
