NORFOLK - The Norfolk Police Department had to kill one of two dogs after they escaped from the owner.

In a news release, Norfolk Police say they revived calls about two dogs on the loose in northern Norfolk on July 3rd.

The same two Husky's had previously been declared as “dangerous dogs” by the city for attacking and killing a smaller dog in November 2018.

Officers were able to stop and catch one of the dogs with the use of a Taser, but the other dog had to be euthanized.

Captain Mike Bauer says a citation is expected against Kathy Wik, the owner of the two dogs.

Authorities say the incident is still under investigation.
