SIDNEY, Neb. — Car enthusiasts from across the region gathered Saturday morning for Cars & Coffee at Beans and Steams Coffeehouse, showcasing a wide range of vehicles and kicking off what organizers hope will become a regular community event.

The free event, hosted by the Cruise ‘N Class Car Club, ran from 8 to 11 a.m. and featured everything from Corvettes and Camaros to El Caminos and rat rods. Attendees traveled from Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming to take part.

“A lot of the local towns around us do it. It’s just a get-together for a few hours for people to meet, mingle and show off their cars,” club member Bridget Russell said.

With sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s and 70s, organizers said turnout exceeded expectations.

“I’m actually surprised how many people came and they’re still showing up. It’s pretty exciting,” Russell said.

The event is open to anyone and free to attend, with organizers encouraging both car owners and spectators to participate.

“There’s a lot of cool cars in Sidney and nobody brings them out. Let’s get them out. Let’s show off your cars,” Russell said.

Organizers plan to continue hosting Cars & Coffee monthly through the summer. The next event is scheduled for April 18.
