HALL COUNTY, Neb. — Police across Central Nebraska are continuing to investigate a stolen car that escaped from authorities Tuesday.

The Hall County Sheriff's office located a stolen black car Tuesday morning at a gas station in Wood River when a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop.

The car, however, took off from the deputy and the chase was taken over by the State Patrol who eventually lost track of the car.

Police say the car was reported as stolen earlier Tuesday out of Grand Island.

No arrests have been made, with the Sheriff's office says it's conducting a follow-up investigation.
