Semi and train collide in rural Adams County

Sheriff’s officials say a farm tractor pulled the semi off the tracks.

KENESAW, Neb. - A semi-truck is damaged after a collision with a train in rural central Nebraska. The accident happened around 11 a.m. Tuesday at an unmarked crossing about five miles north of Kenesaw.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the southbound semi failed to see the train and drove into the first couple of train cars. Nobody was injured, and the train stayed on the tracks. Sheriff’s officials say a farm tractor pulled the semi off the tracks.

The crossing was shut down while the scene was processed but has since reopened.
