FAIRBURY, Neb. — Downtown Fairbury will once again rumble to life this weekend as the 14th annual Fairbury Car Show and Fairbury City Museum Cruise Night take over the square.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday with a Cruise Night, with cars gathering downtown at 6 p.m. The parade of vehicles will depart at 7 p.m., escorted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Fairbury Fire Department. The route will pass through Cedarwood Assisted Living, Gardenside Nursing Home, the Heritage Care Center and Fairbury Gardens, with a new addition this year through the city park and past the Veterans Memorial.

The main show takes place Sunday, when hundreds of cars, trucks and motorcycles are expected to line downtown streets. Last year’s event drew more than 230 entries, from century-old classics to modern builds, a record turnout for the show. Vehicles will be judged in multiple categories, with winners taking home Fairbury’s custom handmade trophies.

Other highlights include a silent auction benefiting Fairbury High School scholarships and a variety of local fundraising food options.
