Groundbreaking scheduled for project transforming former Grand Island Veterans Home into housing
A groundbreaking ceremony is set for the former Grand Island Veterans Home redevelopment.
GRAND ISLAND, Neb.- - A groundbreaking ceremony is set for the former Grand Island Veterans Home redevelopment.
According to a news release, the White Lotus Group will be hosting a Phase 1 groundbreaking event for what will be known as the Grand Island Liberty Campus. The project has been in the works for years. Phase 1 will cover the rehabilitation of the Anderson and Pershing Buildings into 46 affordable housing units that will be specifically designated for seniors and veterans.
The project is made possible by the collaborative efforts of a group involving American National Bank, Midwest Housing Equity Group, Chief Construction and other partners.
The ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 4 p.m.
