Man arrested in Grand Island for possession and other charges

One person was arrested for multiple charges and two people were cited for possession of drugs following a traffic stop.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- One person was arrested for multiple charges and two people were cited for possession of drugs following a traffic stop. 

The Grand Island Police Department said officers saw a vehicle with expired registration heading west on 16th St. W and Sycamore St. N. 

Police said they performed traffic stop where the driver and owner of the vehicle was identified as Roger Dalland; and two additional people were identified as Dolland's passengers. 

GIPD said they used a K9 and there was probable cause to search the vehicle. 

Searching the vehicle, GIPD said they found individual baggies consistent with packaging controlled substances for individual sale, drug paraphernalia located under the passenger's seat, and a large knife measuring 9.5 inches long. 

GIPD said that Dolland was identified as a prohibited person and unable to possess the knife. 

After searching Dolland, GIPD said, on him, they found three baggies of suspected methamphetamine totaling 10.9 grams, as well as a digital scale and syringes. 

Authorities said that Dolland was found to possess over 10 grams of meth without a proper drug tax stamp. 

Dolland was arrested for possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of drug paraphernalia, and expired vehicle registration.

The passengers were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
