NCN to televise Kearney Cruise Nite parade, live request show airing on 98.9 The Vibe

KEARNEY, NE — News Channel Nebraska is embracing one of Kearney’s biggest annual events.
The TV network announced it will televise the Kearney Cruise Nite parade statewide on Saturday, July 16. The parade, organized by the Central Nebraska Auto Club, is the culmination of a week’s worth of activities and will feature hundreds of classic cars from across the region. It is scheduled to run along Central Avenue from 5:00-6:00. The parade will also be broadcast live on News Channel Nebraska’s Facebook page and website.
The company will also participate in the Cruise Nite festivities on the radio. The crew from Murphy in the Mornings with Tim will host a live request show on 98.9 The Vibe (KKPR) from 4:00-6:00. The live show is just the latest venture in the station’s long history of participation in Cruise Nite.
“KKPR has been a part of Kearney Cruise Night since the event began 35 years ago, and just like Cruise Night has grown, so have we,” General Manager Jessie Johnson said. "We're more than excited to share this special event with the entire state by televising it on News Channel Nebraska."
98.9 The Vibe is also hosting a parking lot party at its station at 403 E. 25th St. The event will offer the opportunity to win prizes, play games and register to compete in the daily $1,000 Minute contest.
