MERRICK COUNTY - The Merrick County Sheriff's Office wants the public to use caution after it received a report of a possible police impersonation.

According to a Facebook post, authorities say the incident happened around 6 p.m. Wednesday near Archer Road and I Road.

The suspect vehicle, described as a gray Chevy Camaro with no license plates, activated red and blue flashing lights in the grill of the car.

The driver approached the reporting party and started to honk his horn. The Camaro then turned down a gravel road.

The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male, late 20s, a well groomed beard, wearing a dark colored shirt.

An investigation is underway to find the vehicle and the owner.
