Emergency Food, Shelter Offered In Southeast Nebraska Counties

Organizations Can Register Until July 12

TECUMSEH – Southeast Nebraska Community Action is participating in an emergency food and shelter program authorized by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Local organizations with the capability to deliver emergency food and shelter are eligible to receive funds. A July 12 registration deadline has been set.

A local board represented by the Salvation Army, ministerial associations, food pantries, American Red Cross, homeless services and other organizations determines how funds are distributed.

Southeast Region A, which includes Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties, provided 9,100 meals and housing assistance to 75 households during the first phase of the program.
