SIDNEY – In 2023 Jill Sauder did something rare in the Nebraska Panhandle.

She opened a cheese shop, a boutique cafe that offered the charcutier experience in what she called a “graze box.” In 2026 she sold Savor and Grace to Kristina Davis and her mother Amber Fields. The Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the new ownership with a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday.

“My mom and I decided to take on this adventure together. She’s the owner at Safe at Home Sidney, so, caregiving. She owns a couple of other businesses. We were just huge fans of Jill, and Savor and Grace that she opened to begin with,” Davis said.

She said Savor & Grace became available as she was returning to Cheyenne County.

“When we saw this pop back up, I was looking to move back home and looking for a new change, so my mom is the owner, with me as the manager,” she said.

She said most of the time customers will see her at Savor & Grace.

She said they want to honor the work Sauder put into Savor & Grace and chose to keep as much of her efforts as possible.

“We wanted to keep a lot of the ... the name, the energy, the recipes and stuff that she worked really hard to create. I think it was really well loved,” Davis said.

Davis says the attraction to Savor & Grace started with her admiration of Sauder.

“She’s wonderful. She’s really hard-working, really compassionate, really involved with the community, and I really enjoyed her food," she said.

One of the changes Davis and her mom did make is expanding the hours of service to 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. They are also focused on the "grab & go" features, options at the deli fridge, hoping to do delivery days, a new olive bar, lots of desserts, and they hope to bring back alcohol offerings.
