SIDNEY – Modern Moves Studio teamed up with the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce today celebrating updates made to the business.

Chamber Director Joe McCarn commended Trevon Newmann and Kelsey Arrington on the business.

“I love ribbon cuttings because it marks momentous occasions in a business. To watch what you have done with this place from a little over a year ago did you open to how busy it is here now and how much you do for the community is amazing,” McCarn said.

Newmann said Modern Moves does several disciplines of dance and exercise.

“We do a lot of exercise classes, Tai Chi, fitness, boxing, dance,” he said.

He said his story starts at the Cheyenne County Community Center.

“I started off at the community center, the Cheyenne County Community Center, and I was the fitness director. After working with a bunch of different clients and doing a bunch of classes, I decided I wanted to do a little bit more. I missed teaching dance, but I also still enjoyed doing fitness. But also, I wanted to have this dream of my own place where I could do them both at the same time,” Newmann said.

He started in a studio below Webb Dentistry. Later he and his wife Kelsey Arrington shared dreams and opened the location east of Safeway. The moves started with the encouragement of clients.

“I didn’t think much of it until a lot of my clients started to tell me, ‘Hey you know what? You could really do your own thing.’ They’re like, ‘We’ll come. We’ll follow.’ So enough of my clients did that and said that I was like ‘Ok, maybe I can do my own thing,’” he said.

Modern Moves studio is open Monday through Friday.
