GORDON, Neb. — A 23-year-old Gordon man charged with multiple drug offenses in 2022 has been arrested after an outstanding warrant was returned earlier this month.

Shawn Hill was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a public school, and possession of more than one pound of marijuana.

According to court documents, Hill admitted that marijuana and a cannabis grinder found inside bags in a vehicle outside a house he was staying in belonged to him.

“Shawn Hill asked if he could keep his grinder that was in the bag. In the center console two bowls were found, and Shawn Hill asked if he could keep one of them,” the affidavit states.

Hill was initially issued a citation for marijuana and paraphernalia possession.

The affidavit states that authorities continued searching the vehicle and located a five-gallon bucket containing a green leafy substance that Hill identified as “shake” parts of the marijuana plant excluding the flower. Hill allegedly told officers the material came from plants he had grown in South Dakota and harvested the previous season.

After the evidence was transported to the Gordon Police Department for weighing and testing, officers reported the clippings weighed 2 pounds, 7.8 ounces, and marijuana found in separate bags weighed an additional 1.2 ounces.

Court documents state the house and vehicle associated with Hill was approximately 900 feet from Gordon-Rushville High School.

When authorities returned to the home to arrest Hill, the affidavit states that he was no longer there. An arrest warrant was issued and remained outstanding until it was served in February 2026, nearly four years later.

Hill is also facing a charge of failure to appear or comply with a citation.
