AURORA, Neb. – The Aurora High School football team is going for it all in 2025 after missing the playoffs last year for the first time since 2003.

The Huskies finished last season with a 3-6 record, their lowest win total since a 2-7 record in 2003.

Aurora will look to rebound in Class C1 behind eight returning offensive starters and all 11 defensive starters.

Head Coach Kyle Peterson is back for his 11th season with Aurora, and leads the team into a week one battle against the Pierce Bluejays on NCN TV.

"We have a senior motto this year, and that's 'All In,' they talk about doing everything they can to make the team the best it can be," said Peterson. "If we can be the best of us, we have a really good chance of being successful. I think any time you have kids, especially seniors that all of them that are buying into that concept of being all in, giving whatever they can to create success for the team, you have the right mindset."

Aurora and Pierce will match up Friday for just the third time in school history with the Bluejays winning both previous contests.

The two squads squared off in the 2022 Class C1 State Championship game and Pierce won 42-14.

Watch the video above for a preview of the Huskies' season and Coach Peterson's comments on Friday's game.

NCN will air the game live at 6:45 p.m. with kickoff at 7 p.m.
