Dan’s friends growing up in Otoe, Nebraska, urged him to seek a radio job, but it took him three decades to find the right opportunity. He earned his journalism degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and began work at the Nebraska City News-Press in 1988. Dan received the city's Tree Planter award for work at Riverview Nature Park and received Nebraska Press Association awards for spot news, featuring writing, photography and video news reports. He was the first Nebraska reporter to Tweet from a Nebraska Courtroom. Dan is currently a volunteer with ReLeasT Ministries and is on the preaching rotation for the Saturday night outreach.
