GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Three veteran broadcasters synonymous with Nebraska State Fair coverage are reuniting for a special series of live broadcasts this August on News Channel Nebraska.

Dave Griek, Colleen Williams, and Kent Boughton will co-host five live shows from the Nebraska State Fair on Aug. 22, 25, 26, 27, and 29. The programs will air statewide from 6:00–7:00 p.m. Central Time on News Channel Nebraska and will stream live for free on the NCN website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.

“News Channel Nebraska and the State Fair are a perfect match,” said Michael Shively, NCN Vice President of News and Content. “As the state’s leading local news network, NCN is committed to celebrating Nebraska’s youth, agriculture, and communities. There’s no better place to do that than the Nebraska State Fair.”

The trio has worked together on state fair broadcasts for more than a decade. Griek now serves as NCN’s evening anchor, Boughton is the station’s chief forecaster, and Williams joins them as co-anchor for the special shows.

"I am absolutely thrilled to join the NCN team for their live coverage at the Nebraska State Fair,” Williams said. “Dave Griek and Kent Boughton aren't just co-workers or friends— they feel like family. We’re excited to get back together and bring all the great moments of the fair to viewers across the state!"

The broadcast will feature a live talk-show format and include on-the-ground interviews, segments exploring the fair, and real-time weather forecasts. Viewers can join the conversation by commenting on the livestream or leaving messages at NCN’s interactive studio booth on the fairgrounds.

“We are incredibly excited to see the slate of on-air talent broadcasting live from the NCN booth at the State Fair this year,” said Courtney Glock, Marketing Director for the Nebraska State Fair. “Their familiarity with our event and the memories they’ve made with us over the last 15 years make them a perfect team for live coverage from the fairgrounds.”

The Nebraska State Fair celebrates its 156th year this August. The fair has drawn more than 4 million visitors to its home in Grand Island since 2010.

“We’re excited to partner with News Channel Nebraska to help share the energy, the stories, and the talents of those at the Fair with viewers across the state,” Glock said. “Our theme in 2025 is Showcase Your Fair Face and these broadcasters all have a familiar Fair Face that we can’t wait to see again!

NCN will share additional details about the live shows ahead of the State Fair’s opening day on Friday, August 22
