KEARNEY, Neb. - Two high-schoolers within a half-hour of each other are the being recognized as the most recent athletes of the month for ESPN Tri-Cities.

Pete Homan of Kearney Catholic and the Tri City Junior Storm is this month's male winner for his accomplishments. 

Homan had 48 total points with the Storm hockey team, including 33 goals and fifteen assists.  

He was also a running back and linebacker for the football team. 

Myla Emery is the ESPN Tri-Cities female athlete of the month for March.

Emery takes home the award after leading the Minden girls basketball team to a third place finish at the state tournament.

She was also an all-state volleyball player for the back-to-back state champion Whippets.

Emery announced she will continue her academic and athletic career at Concordia University.
