FREMONT, Neb. - Many in Fremont are assessing damage on Friday following a severe storm.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for part of Dodge County including Fremont around 6:15 Thursday night. The area was also placed in a severe thunderstorm warning.

The N-W-S is working to gather official damage reports on Friday, but did share that the storm included softball-size hail and wind gusts as high as 86 miles per hour.

Photos and video from Fremont shared with us and posted to social media showed extreme hail damage. Houses lost windows, suffered damaged siding and damaged roofs. The hail knocked out the windshields on some cars left outside and high winds took down trees in some areas of town.
