Roe Automotive to end partnership with Buick at Grand Island location

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – A Central Nebraska automotive company is dropping the retailer at one of its locations due to the future of the brand's vehicles.
A Wednesday news release from Roe Automotive says its Roe Buick dealership in Grand Island will no long be affiliated with Buick vehicles beginning April 1.
The release says that General Motors announced in June 2022 that Buick would strictly transition to an EV (Electric Vehicle) lineup by 2030.
In response, Roe has sold back the Buick Franchise to General Motors.
“With the direction of the strictly EV Buick brand, along with the market conditions and knowing our customers’ needs and demands in this part of the country, the extremely difficult and emotional decision to sell the Buick franchise back to GM was made," said President of Roe Automotive Inc. Jason Roe. "Effective April 1, 2025, Roe Automotive Inc. will no longer have the Buick franchise."
According to Roe, the Grand Island location will still operate as normal without the Buick tag.
“We will operate Roe Automotive Inc. at the Grand Island location and continue to provide the same excellent customer experience for Pre-Owned Sales as well as all of your service and parts needs." said Roe.
The Roe Chevrolet dealership in Aurora will not be affected by these changes.
Roe Automotive has been in operation in Grand Island since 1952.
