Ravenna teacher named 2025 economic educator of the year

Tanner Ellis, an instructor at Ravenna Public Schools, was named the 2025 Economic Educator of the Year during a ceremony at the Nebraska State Capitol.

RAVENNA, Neb. – Tanner Ellis, an instructor at Ravenna Public Schools, was named the 2025 Economic Educator of the Year during a ceremony at the Nebraska State Capitol.

The recognition came as part of the proclamation for Financial Awareness Month, declared by Governor Jim Pillen.

As part of the honor, Ellis was awarded the title of admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska- the highest civic honor in the state.

Governor Pillen praised Ellis for his commitment to teaching financial literacy, a subject that’s becoming increasingly important for students across the state.
