A Central Nebraskan who won her school’s first ever girls state wrestling championship is ESPN Tri-Cities female athlete of the month for February.

Kearney High Wrestling’s Carsyn McBride takes home this month’s award after claiming the Class A 115-pound title at the NSAA state championships. 

It was just the Bearcats second year of having a girls wrestling program, and McBride helped lead the team. 

The junior finished her championship season with a record of 48-2.
