Lawrence was born June 23, 1932, to Andrew and Rosilda (Breault) Schropfer in Campbell, NE. He attended District 11, District 23, and Campbell Public Schools. Lawrence began farming at five years of age. He followed his dad everywhere, so what better way to learn than at that early age. Lawrence grew up, married, and retired all in the same home. He married Ruth Graf Maska on October 15, 1966. To this union a daughter, Andrea, was born.

Lawrence retired at 55, or did he? He went on to work at Gottsch Feed Yards in Juniata and Red Cloud in his sixties and was driving great John Deere equipment. A kid at heart, doing what he loved, moving dirt.

Lawrence loved to hunt and fish, he shot his last deer at age 89. Always wanted that Big Horn Sheep but ended up with a Caribou or two.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; stillborn brother; stillborn sister; step-daughter & spouse, Barbara & Don Seybold; step-son & spouse, Richard “Dick” & Claudia Maska; step-granddaughters, Taffy Lewis and Monica Maska; and several cousins.
