KEARNEY, Neb. — A Nebraska man convicted possessing a large amount of meth and repeatedly fleeing arrest could spend decades behind bars.

A Buffalo County District Court judge handed down sentences to 32-year-old Gino Main for convictions in two separate cases last week. Main made a plea deal in the drug possession case, pleading no contest to a reduced charge of having 28-139 grams of meth in exchange for the state dropping a pair of other drug-related felonies. Judge John Marsh sentenced him to 10-25 years in prison with a five-year mandatory minimum. He gets credit for 225 days served.

In a separate case, Main pleaded no contest to driving a car to avoid arrest and driving during revocation. Marsh sentenced him to two years and 30 days to be served at the same time as the sentence in the drugs case. Main will have his license revoked for two years after his release from custody.

The cases date back to April. In court documents, police say Main, who had two outstanding arrest warrants at the time, led officers on a chase through Kearney and escaped. Two days later, officers noticed him parked near a storage facility and arrested him. In a search, investigators found about a pound of meth, drug paraphernalia, scales, marijuana and a large amount of cash.
