GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - Nebraskans will be able to watch one of the state's most storied parades in a new way this weekend.
The Harvest of Harmony Parade in Grand Island is set for its 82nd year. This year, it will be live streamed through the Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page. It used to be televised, but copyright issues is forcing it off the air.
Vice President Nelly Venegas says organizers had to find a loophole so that people could enjoy it from their homes.
“It is a well oiled machine not a ton has changed since the beginning. It’s obviously grown quite a bit but it stayed pretty consistent over the years,” said Venegas.
Venegas says they have more participants sign up that last year. This year there are 181 entries.
The parade starts at 8:15 on Saturday. Following the parade, the Harvest of Harmony Field Competition will take place at Grand Island Senior High’s Memorial Stadium.
