HASTINGS, Neb. -- Two new leaders are taking over the top posts at the Salvation Army of Hastings.

According to a news release, Captains Joseph and Rachel Irvine started their new assignment in Hastings on June 25. They replace Majors Dale and Sera Brandenburg, who retired earlier this summer.

The Irvine’s have been Salvation Army officers for nine years. Their first appointment was in Beatrice, Nebraska in 2015. They are returning to Nebraska after finishing an appointment in North Dakota. Their return to the Cornhusker State is a special homecoming for Joseph, who is a third-generation officer. His grandparents were stationed in Hastings back in the 1960s.
