Fairview Villas to bring dozens of housing units to Hastings
HASTINGS, Neb. – Hastings residents of ages 55 and older will soon have more living options.
On Monday, the Hastings City Council voted 7-0 to approve the development of 28 duplexes at the intersection of W. F St. and Franklin Ave. in a vacant field to the south.
The developer is Mesner Development Co. of Central City, and their new community is called the 'Fairview Villas.'
The 28 units, will be for residents 55 and older, and 22 of them will be income restricted to make it more affordable for low-income residents.
Development documents show the low-income unit's monthly rent should range from $575 to $685 per month. The other six units will be market-rate units anticipated to rent for approximately $1,000 per month.
The total development cost in the initial stages is just over $7 million, and will be partially funded by tax increment financing (TIF).
With the council's approval, developers plan to begin construction as soon as possible, and hope to complete the development by late 2025.
