Prescription Pyro of Broken Bow receives Government Contractor of the Year Award

BROKEN BOW, Neb. -- A central Nebraska business is being recognized with a prestigious award. 

The Nebraska Business Development Center announced the 2023 recipients of its annual Business Awards. 

Broken Bow’s Prescription Pyro was awarded as the Government Contractor of the Year. The business offers a wildfire fighting and prevention service. 

According to a news release, owner Bob Harrold began the business in 2010. Initially, services included custom burn and cedar tree removal for private landowners, and some contracting in Nebraska. Now, his team is made up of multiple trucks and a team of seasonal employees traveling around the country providing wildfire suppression and prevention services. 

Harrold worked with the Nebraska Business Development Center’s APEX Accelerator program to earn government contracts, including contracts with the U.S. Forest Service and other federal, state, and local organizations.
