GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A developer is planning to tear down a Grand Island house and build apartment units.

At Tuesday's city council meeting, members voted for a single-family home in Grand Island to be torn down and replaced with a three-unit apartment. 

According to records, Paramount Development purchased the property at 603 E. Division St. Over the next year it will be demolished and rebuilt as apartments.

The project, including acquisition, demolition, reconstruction, application and legal fees, will exceed $538,000. 

They have been approved for tax increment financing in the amount of $183,484 over a period of 20 years.
