Hastings College’s Thomas named GPAC Player of the Year, Raridon Coach of the Year
After winning the GPAC Tournament for the first time in program history Tuesday night, multiple players for the Hastings College Basketball team are taking home some end-of-season conference hardware.

HASTINGS, Neb. – After winning the GPAC Tournament for the first time in program history Tuesday night, multiple players for the Hastings College Basketball team are taking home some end-of-season conference hardware.
On Wednesday morning, the Great Plain Athletics Conference (GPAC) announced that Sophomore Guard Reggie Thomas has been named the GPAC Player of the Year, as well as 1st team on the GPAC All-Conference team.
Thomas averaged 24.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for the Broncos who went 20-8 overall and 15-5 in conference play during the regular season, earning a share of the GPAC regular season title.
This is the second yearly award for Thomas who was named the GPAC Freshman of the Year last year in 2023. He becomes the first Bronco to earn conference player of the year since 1991.
In his second season as the Men's Basketball Head Coach, Todd Raridon was named the GPAC Coach of the Year.
Also receiving awards were Senior Tyrique McMurrin, who received 2nd team honors. Grady Corrigan and Danilo Matovic were honorable mentions.
The team will play in the NAIA National Tournament next week with opponent and date still TBD.
