KEARNEY, Neb. -- Two central Nebraska students’ artwork will be included in a prestigious national ceramic exhibition.

According to a news release, Kearney High students Kally Ostermeyer and Shayne Brown were selected to participate in the 27th Annual National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition.

The exhibition had 1,169 entries from 152 teachers nationwide.

Ostermeyer's artwork, titled “Rustic”, and Brown’s “Little Sable Point” were among the 150 pieces chosen for display.

"Being recognized on a national platform underscores the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our students," said Ceramics Teacher Katrina Olmstead. "It's a profound honor for our school and the ceramics program."

The exhibition is an annual juried competition that highlights ceramic work made by K-12 students from across the country.

The event is set to take place from Mar. 20 to Mar. 22 in Richmond, Virginia.
