NSAA announces high school football district assignments

The Nebraska School Activities Association has announced football districts for the next two seasons. Here is how central Nebraska teams are assigned.

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska School Activities Association has announced football districts for the next two seasons.

The district assignments come a couple of weeks after the NSAA revealed the classifications for the next two-year cycle. The teams in each district will play each other during the regular season. Every district champion, in addition to other teams with high wild-card points, makes the playoffs.

Here is how central Nebraska teams are assigned.

Class A

Kearney High

New: District A-3: Columbus, Kearney, Lincoln East, Millard North, Omaha Bryan

Old: A-3: Kearney, Lincoln Northeast, Norfolk, North Platte, Omaha Westside

Grand Island

New: District A-6: Bellevue East, Grand Island, Lincoln North Star, Millard West, Omaha Northwest, Omaha Westview

Class B

Northwest

New: District B-4: Crete, Lincoln Northwest, Northwest, Seward, York

Old: B-5: Gering, Hastings, Lexington, Northwest, Scottsbluff

Hastings

New: District B-5: Gering, Hastings, Lexington, McCook, Scottsbluff

Old: B-5: Gering, Hastings, Lexington, Northwest, Scottsbluff

Class C-1

Adams Central

New: District C1-5: Adams Central, Aurora, Central City, Lincoln Christian, Milford

Old: C1-5: Adams Central, Aurora, Central City, Fairbury, St. Paul

District C1-6: Broken Bow, Cozad, Gothenburg, Holdrege, Minden

Class C-2

District C2-4: Boone Central, Center, Cross Country, GICC, Ord, St. Paul

Hastings St. Cecilia

New: Doniphan-Trumbull, Fillmore Central, Gibbon, Hastings St. Cecilia, Superior, Wood River
