Victim with ‘slash across the chest’ transported to hospital, not cooperating with Hastings Police

A man is recovering after Hastings Police say he was slashed across the chest early Sunday morning.

HASTINGS, Neb. — A man is recovering after Hastings Police say he was slashed across the chest early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a call from the victim around 4:25 Sunday morning. Police say the man was in the 1300 block of W. J St. That area along J St., which is also Highway 34, is a commercial area on the southwest side of town near an equipment dealer and Bomgaars. First responders transported the man to a local hospital with what was described as a slash across the chest caused by a sharp blade.

Police say the victim is not cooperating with investigators and they don’t know of any witnesses. They ask that anyone with information contact the Hastings Police Department.
