One dies in grain bin accident near Grand Island

One person is dead after authorities say he became trapped in a grain bin.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb.- One person is dead after authorities say he became trapped in a grain bin.

According to the Hall County Sherriff’s Office, deputies responded to a medical call on Thursday around 10:40 a.m. south of Grand Island. The accident happened in the 6600 block of North Road, which is about a mile northwest of Bosselman's Travel Center.

The victim was found dead in the grain bin and identified as Dale Bockmann.

The Grand Island Fire Department, Grand Island Rural Fire Department, and Doniphan Rural fire Department helped with rescue efforts.

Officials have investigated and determined it was an accidental death.
