GOTHENBURG, Neb. -- A man from Maryland was arrested near Gothenburg for reportedly speeding and troopers found 85 lbs. of marijuana and other drugs inside the vehicle.

The Nebraska State Patrol said a Chrysler Pacifica was seen speeding over 100 mph at 7:10 a.m. on Monday. The Chrysler was reportedly going east on Interstate 80 near Lexington.

Officials said a trooper tried to do a traffic stop on the Chrysler but the vehicle off and a pursuit began. The vehicle reportedly got off the interstate at the Lexington interchange, turned around, and drove west on I-80.

According to authorities, a deputy from the Dawson County Sheriff's Office set out a spike strip near the Gothenburg interchange to slow down the vehicle. The Chrysler stopped near mile marker 214 and the driver was taken into custody.

NSP said the driver was 30-year-old Antoine Geter, of Maryland. Troopers reportedly found 85 lbs. of marijuana, 4 lbs. of marijuana products, and a small amount of psilocybin mushroom products in the vehicle.

Officials said Geter was lodged in the Dawson County Jail and arrested for willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and traffic violations.
