LINCOLN - On a chilly Saturday afternoon, the Lincoln Northeast Rockets weren't cold on the hardwood, as they swept Norfolk in both games, 65-49 in the girls  and 73-32 in the boys.

In the girls contest, Rockets jumped out to a 17-5 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Panthers fought hard in the second quarter to keep the game within reach at 33-22.

Lincoln Northeast wasn't fazed at the comeback attempt, pushing past Norfolk and wound up pulling away at home, 65-49.

The Rockets were led by a 22 point scoring effort from Serena Heeren. Monica Gutierrez scored 12, while Khadijah Phillips chipped in 11 for Lincoln Northeast.

The Panthers were lead by the strong duo of Tasha Eisenhauer with 18 and Cameryn Skiff with 14, but ultimately fell to a good Rockets team.

Lincoln Northeast improves to 11-7 while Norfolk drops to 2-15.

In the boys game, it was again Lincoln Northeast that jumped out to a strong first quarter lead, 21-10.

Norfolk battled quickly and brought the game within 8, before the Rockets went on a scoring run to take a 35-22 lead into the half.

Lincoln Northeast didn't skip a beat out of the locker room, extending the lead to 52-28 at the end of the third quarter and continued to put the pedal down, en route to a 73-32 final.

The Rockets were powered by Porter Bazil's paint presence, along with Christian Winn's smooth jumper as they lead the team with 20 points each. 

Norfolk got the majority of its scoring from Jack Borgmann, who found a way to score both on the interior and from beyond the arc, finishing with 17 points.

Lincoln Northeast moves to 10-7, while Norfolk drops to 3-13.
