Two Grand Island men facing child porn conspiracy charges in federal court

Two central Nebraska men are facing federal charges for conspiracy to produce child pornography over a four-year period of time.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Two central Nebraska men are facing federal charges for conspiracy to produce child pornography over a four-year period of time.

42-year-old Scott Matthew Simmons and 33-year-old Scott Lee Meyer, both of Grand Island, are charged in an eight-count indictment that was unsealed on Thursday.

Four of the counts levied against Simmons and Meyer would carry sentences of 25-50 years in prison. The other four charges would cary maximum sentences of 10 years in prison, which would be served consecutively with the other counts.

Both men are accused of conspiring to produce child pornography from 2018 through August 15, 2022. They are accused of doing so while already on the sex offender registry. They also face fines of up to $250,000 for each count.
