HOLDREGE, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested a woman after a pursuit in Harlan County on Tuesday.

NSP said a trooper saw a Ford Taurus reportedly driving in excess of 100 mph on Highway 6 in Harlan County around 10:00 a.m. The trooper tried to do a traffic stop but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and the trooper pursued them.

Officers said the Taurus fled southbound on county roads for two miles and then turned eastbound. The driver reportedly lost control while crossing railroad tracks and crashed.

According to authorities, the driver was 20-year-old Alexia McCloud of Arapahoe. She didn't have any injuries and was then taken into custody without further incident. A 22-year-old passenger had non-life threatening injuries from the crash but was still transported to a nearby hospital.

Officials said McCloud was arrested for willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, and other charges. McCloud was lodged in Furnas County Jail.

The Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, Furnas County Sheriff’s Office, and Oxford Volunteer Fire and Rescue assisted in this incident.
