Victim named in strip club shooting, authorities asking public for information

ELM CREEK, NE — Authorities are releasing more details about a shooting at a central Nebraska strip club and asking others to share what they know.

The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office says at least three people were injured in a disturbance in the parking lot of Paradise City, an adult entertainment club near Elm Creek. Capt. Bob Anderson says 29-year-old Richard Rios of Houston was shot in the lower torso shortly after 12:30 Sunday morning. Rios was driven to Lexington Regional Hospital then transferred to a different hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anderson says a 49-year-old man from Elwood suffered severe facial injuries and was transported by ambulance to CHI Good Samaritan in Kearney. A 30-year-old man from North Platte was also suffered facial wounds.

The Sheriff’s Office doesn’t know yet if the shooting was accidental or intentional, but did say multiple people engaged in several physical assaults as part of the disturbance. Deputies haven’t made an arrest and continue to investigate.
