GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A central Nebraska man is behind bars after police found him passed out in a vehicle with two children.

Grand Island police said the incident happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

Officers were called to Pump and Pantry on North Broadwell Avenue to a report of a man,25-year-old Ryan Wieck of Saint Paul, passed out in the driver's seat with two kids present.

Police said he also showed signs of being under the influence of drugs. A field sobriety test came back positive.

A search of the car later turned up less than an ounce of marijuana and a small amount of meth and fentanyl.

The two kids, ages seven and three, were released to their mother.

Wieck is charged with two counts of felony child abuse, DUI and drug charges.
