Farmers can be reimbursed for using equipment fighting fire

CAMBRIDGE, Neb. -- Nebraskans are lining up to help fight fires in the southwest part of the state, with hundreds of farmers turning up to use their equipment in the battle against the Road 702 Fire. Now their efforts may be eligible for federal reimbursement.
FEMA issued a fire management assistance declaration for the wildfire in southwest Nebraska over the weekend. That means farmers that used their own equipment are eligible to be reimbursed for their time.
The city of Cambridge says it has the necessary forms available to fill out at their city offices and in the Cambridge fire barn.
They are due back to the barn by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
