GIPS names new principal for Starr Elementary

Grand Island Public Schools is staying within the district to find their next elementary school principal.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Grand Island Public Schools is staying within the district to find their next elementary school principal.

GIPS announced Thursday that Selena Wardyn is the new principal for Starr Elementary beginning in June.

Wardyn has worked for Grand Island Public Schools for 17 years, most recently as assistant principal for Walnut Middle School.

Wardyn takes over for current principal John Hauser, who is leaving to a take a position at Hastings Public Schools.
