ST.PAUL, Neb.-- Officials say a heating pad was the cause of a fire that destroyed a building in Central Nebraska.

The St. Paul Fire Department responded to the fire around 4 a.m. Thursday southeast of St. Paul on Hardy Road.

Firefighters fought a defensive attack because of the possibility of the roof collapsing and a large amount of ammunition going off inside.

Officials say there were no injuries to any of the residents or firefighters.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshal was on the scene investigating and eventually ruled that the cause of the fire was a heating pad that was laying on the couch.
