CREIGHTON - The West Holt girls basketball team refused to go away, but Creighton hit big shots late and held off the Huskies 44-41 on Friday.

An early West Holt lead quickly evaporated, as Creighton used an extended 20-4 run to take a 27-16 lead at the half.

The Bulldogs would eventually build a 14-point lead midway through the third, but West Holt continued to chip away, pulling within one possession on multiple occasions in the fourth, but not finding the shots they needed late.

Creighton senior Macey Zimmerer finished with 14 points and seven rebounds despite being limited by foul trouble for much of the second and third quarters.

West Holt had three players finish in double figures, with Lainey Smith and Maci Nemetz each finishing with 12 points.
